It is an incredible honor to be part of such an uplifting and inspiring organization like Challenged Athletes Foundation, who provides opportunities and support to people with physical challenges, so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics. These are the athletes who inspire us to do what we do + motivate us all to meet our athletic potential.

High costs of adaptive sports equipment and lack of resources should not keep individuals with physical challenges from being active.

We've Got Answers

Proteins are the basic building blocks of life. It provides your body with the essential amino acids it needs to grow and repair muscle tissue, along with the necessary components to keep your immune system healthy and to make hormones, enzymes, skin, hair, nails, organs and blood.

Several factors affect how much protein your body needs, including age, height, weight, metabolic rate, exercise level, stress factors, sleep patterns and the quality and quantity of food intake.

Our products should not be consumed past their “Enjoy By” date. They have all been extensively tested to determine the length of time that they retain their flavor and nutrient properties. We guarantee their freshness and nutritional content up to this date.

Our products undergo special processing to improve dispersion and allow for easy mixing using a shaker or hand blender. This process reduces its bulk density (i.e. it makes the powder lighter and fluffier), increasing the volume and therefore the container size required for a given weight of product. During transportation, there is some settling of the product in the container, resulting in a volume reduction of up to 30%, which makes the container appear to be less full.  Product containers are weighed during packaging and Designer Protein, LLC guarantees their accuracy.

Typically, one scoop of Designer Protein can be approximated by using a ¼ cup measuring cup.

We have found that adding the protein into the water usually solves dispersion problems. Adding to a shaker cup or hand blender will usually solve any dispersion issues. Whey based protein powders contain fat molecules and protein molecules that repel and attract water or moisture.  This tug of war between fat and protein can make dispersion difficult at times because slight variations in moisture can change the product's functionality or dispersion.  Rest assured, the product is perfectly safe and potent even when dispersion is difficult - it usually means the product was not stored optimally, in a cool dry place, and some moisture migration has taken place.  This is a common occurrence in all whey based protein powders.

Here are a some techniques that can remedy dispersion hassles:

  • A blender is the clear winner to a smooth shake.  Simply add everything and blend.
  • A shaker bottle is the 2nd best approach and requires minimal clean up and no energy. Find a shaker bottle which includes a blender ball to easily break up any clumps. The best approach is to add the liquid first followed by the powder and then shake, shake, shake.

All Designer Wellness products are made in a peanut-free facility and do not come in contact with any peanut products during the packaging process. As such, you can readily enjoy our protein powders without being concerned about allergies.

Designer Wellness products use Monk Fruit and high purity (Reb A) Stevia. Our Lite Protein uses a sweetener derived from a sugar called sucralose at very low concentrations.

Since 1993, all of our products have been made in the USA.

Our whey protein comes from grade-A dairies located within the United States. We have been purchasing our ingredients from America’s best whey producers.

Our quality standards require that each lot of each ingredient is compliant with our raw material specifications and the supplier must do third-party identity verification. Our requirement is a certificate of analysis supplied by the raw ingredient supplier, as well as conducting our own third-party analysis testing and auditing. We also visit regularly with our suppliers to ensure that they meet and exceed all quality standards mandated for our industry.

No, Designer Wellness does not spike the protein count.

Spiking refers to the practice of adding free form amino acids into a protein product in order to cut costs and boost the total nitrogen protein number, but without communicating the addition to purchasers of the product. This means you’re not getting the protein quality you paid for as stated on the label.

Full disclosure: Designer Protein was wrongfully named in a protein spiking class action suit in late 2014 and can still be found on the internet. However, the complaint was dropped immediately when we provided test results from two different independent labs, confirming that our protein number on the label is the true protein number and not the result of amino acid spiking.
