Hitting the road? With some planning, it’s easy to maintain healthy habits while on the road. Check out our top favorite healthy road trip snacks for your next adventure.

  1. Hardboiled Eggs

Hard-boiled eggs are an easy whole food and 100% absorbable protein to satisfy you on your journey. Eggs are an excellent source of vitamin D to help your immune system fight off viruses and bacteria while exploring new destinations.

  1. Designer Whey

Designer Whey has a whopping 20g of protein in 1 scoop. When on the road, pack your desired servings in a bag or bring the whole bag with you and your shaker bottle, and you can mix it with water or your desired liquid.

  1. Protein Smoothies

Designer Wellness Protein Smoothies are a no-brainer, balanced, nutritious snack on the road. No refrigeration is needed, so no cooler, no problem. Each protein smoothie has 12g protein, 4g MCTs, and 7g carbs. Each smoothie contains anti-inflammatory fruits like berries, strawberries, and tropical fruits to ease inflammation.

  1. Chia Pudding

Chia pudding is simple to prep ahead for a superfood meal on the road. Chia seeds are full of omega-3 fats to reduce inflammation on the road and keep you full. Chia puddings have high fiber content, support your digestive system's regularity, and help you prevent travel-related constipation. Our Designer Wellness Chia Pudding recipe includes vanilla bean Designer Whey to help create the most nutritious meal of protein, fiber, and healthy fats.

  1. Protein Muffins

It’s tempting to gravitate towards high-carb sweets while on the road, and making protein muffins is an excellent way to have your treat and eat it too. Our Oatmeal Chocolate Nana Muffins are made with oats, flaxseed, Greek yogurt, and Designer Egg, and it’s packed with healthy nutrients and is just as delicious as any pastry on the road.

  1. Veggies

Veggies are an excellent staple for any adventure! Cherry tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, jicama sticks, bell peppers, radishes, and celery are all fantastic travel companions. Keeping veggies on hand ensures you meet your nutrient, fiber, and hydration needs.

  1. Fruit

Fruits like blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, apples, and pears are perfect no-prep fruits to snack on on the road. The high vitamin C content of these berries helps boost your immune system to keep you healthy on the road.

  1. Trail Mix

Trail mix is an easy calorie-dense snack to energize you on a long road trip. Include high healthy fat nuts and seeds like sunflower, pumpkin, Brazil nuts, walnuts, almonds, and hazelnuts with a little 70% or more dark chocolate for the perfect antioxidant mix. If you’re a mindless snacker, stick to just one type of nut or seed per snack. It’s easy to overeat trail mix when each bite is a new experience.

  1. String Cheese

String cheese mozzarella is perfectly packaged and portioned for cheese lovers. It is high in protein and is a no-mess snack in the car.

  1. Protein Brownies

The longer you are driving, the more the sugary cravings peak. When we get tired, cortisol rises, and we innately want sugar.  Try our Protein Brownie recipe made with chocolate, sweet potatoes, and chocolate Designer Plant to satisfy your sweet tooth and avoid the sugary crash on the road.

Healthy travel is easy with the above road trip snacks. Make sure to bring Designer Wellness along with you on your next adventure for easy nutrition on the road.
