Protein-Packed Carrot Cake Waffles

2 servings (4 waffles)

Ingredients:

½ cup flour

2 T brown sugar

¼ t salt

½ t cinnamon

¼ t nutmeg

1 scoop Designer Wellness Aria Women’s Wellness Protein

1 egg

½ cup milk

2 T nonfat greek yogurt

1 carrot, grated

Directions:

  1. Preheat waffle iron and spray with nonstick spray. 

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and Designer Wellness Aria Women’s Wellness Protein.

  3. In a smaller mixing bowl, combine egg, milk, greek yogurt, and grated carrot, mixing until smooth.

  4. Add liquid mixture to dry ingredients. Fold gently until fully combined.

  5. Pour ½ cup of batter onto waffle iron. Cook 3-5 minutes, depending on the waffle iron setting. Waffles will be done when they are golden brown on both sides.

  6. Serve with your favorite waffle toppings. My favorite toppings are butter, low-calorie maple syrup, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Enjoy!

Pancakes: Alternatively, heat a skillet over medium heat and spray with nonstick spray. Pour batter onto the pan and cook until the top starts to bubble. Gently flip pancake over and cook on other side, until both sides are golden brown. Repeat with remaining batter.
